Just posted my problem a few minutes ago. I found and followed these instructions:
I went to msconfig, services tab, and disabled Dell Data Vault. Restarted.
So far, so good. Before you do the same thing, please note that I am not a computer wiz. Having no clue as to how to get to msconfig, I had to use the search feature to figure out where it was. Hope that this action will not come back to bite me!

Same video problem, but no buzzing. Playing a video (youtube, arcade game, etc) locks up the screen but the audio portion continues without problems or distortion. Cursor turns into a revolving circle.
I thought it might be heat related, but the first thing I did today after start up was play a youtube video. Screen stalled within 20 seconds, audio continued just fine.
This problems started around 2/11/15, around the time Dell Data Vault Service was apparently installed.
Testing via Dell support shows all systems are in good shape. My Dell extended warranty expires on 3/18, so my thoughts went to "conspiracy?" to influence my decision about renewing the warranty.

Thank you. I had the same problem. I uninstalled anything in my Dell folder in the OS (C) folder that had data there. Turned off my computer. Waited 20 seconds and restarted it and wow.. I have just listened to three songs going on my fourth with no buzzing, grinding sound. All fixed. Thank you Dawn Gloeckler and Guest. My system monitor is running much smoother and no fan being on for long periods of time.

I have an XPS 15z. There was some sort of update on 2/11/15 and 2/12/15 that Dell sent out that did me in. By deleting anything Dell Data that was put on at that time fixed it. I also turned off NET Guard from McAffe in my Firewall settings. Another article said that would also help as it runs in the background when using anything at a site you are streaming and uses system resources.
